He has a master\u2019s degree in the post-graduate program of Natural Resources Management and Local Development in the Amazon (PPGEDAM) &#8211; NUMA\/UFPA, and a bachelor\u2019s degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Par\u00e1 (UFPA).<\/p>\n<p>At Instituto Peabiru, Herm\u00f3genes has been coordinating since 2010 the <em>Viva Maraj\u00f3<\/em> Program, supervising the projects <em>Embarca Maraj\u00f3<\/em>; <em>Viva Pesca<\/em>; <em>Arranjos Produtivos Locais<\/em> \u2013 local productive agreements of a\u00e7a\u00ed and andiroba; <em>ATER<\/em> (Technical Assistance and Rural Extension) in the regions of Maraj\u00f3, islands of Bel\u00e9m and Ananindeua<em>,<\/em> and the <em>Viva Maraj\u00f3<\/em> Project. Such projects are concerned, amongst other issues, with offering technical assistance to local civil society organizations, monitoring public policies, technical assistance and rural extension to families in agro extractive settlement projects, territorial governance, and structuring fishing agreements. He has managed, in several regions of Brazil\u2019s state of Par\u00e1, projects around the construction of the Local Agenda 21 (a process in which local authorities and several sectors of communities collaborate in elaborating a plan of action in order to implement sustainability in the local level); environmental education for children and youth; training and productive inclusion of young people and women in rural areas; training in planning and resource mobilization for civil society organizations. He also currently coordinates the <em>N\u00e9ctar da Amaz\u00f4nia<\/em> project, centered on structuring the production chain of honey from wild stingless bees in the states of Par\u00e1 and Amap\u00e1, which is financed by the Amazon Fund (BNDES).<\/p>\n<p>Herm\u00f3genes was a consultant for the Environmental Management Qualification Program (PQGA, in the Portuguese acronym) of the Brazilian Institute of Municipal Administration (IBAM).
